Pierce, Donna Rae (nee Torbert)

Age 79 of Roseville, MN. Passed away peacefully on January 9, 2014. Born in Detroit Lakes, MN and raised in Kalispell, MT. Preceded in death by parents, Renn and Elsie (Zingler) Torbert. Survived by loving husband of 58 years, Al; sons Rick (Julie), Dan, and Brian; grandchildren Andrew (Kara), Melinda, and Karen; great- grandson, Andrew James. She was deeply cherished and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen and was a fantastic cook. She was a talented quilter, seamstress, and crafter. She loved spending time with family and friends and was also an enthusiastic traveler. Some of her favorite places were the St. Croix River in the summer and Siesta Key, FL in the winter. She loved jokes, puns, and stories, and always had a smile and a hug to share. Donna worked in customer service for Dayton-Hudson and later, Marshall Field’s. She was a dedicated volunteer at Roseville Lutheran Church and St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Eaglecrest Arbor and Optage Hospice for their loving care of Donna. A celebration of her life will be held at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 Roselawn Ave. W., Roseville, on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 11:00 A.M., with lunch following. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer’s Association , Animal Humane Society, American Cancer Society , Roseville Lutheran Church.
