Granger, Harold Joseph
January 24, 1934 – May 14, 2013
A age 79, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2013, after a short bout with cancer. He joins beloved mother Amanda, father Louis and siblings James Granger, Shirley Haiko, Lois Trottier and John Granger. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Granger (League), son Gregory Granger (Heather), daughters Renee Smith and Michelle Lundborg (Steve); grandchildren, Ian, Elizabeth, Samantha and Matthew; siblings MaryAnn Kohler (Walter), Francis Granger (Diane), Richard Granger (Michele); and many friends and relatives. Harold was born in Somerset, WI. He and his wife raised their three children in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1993 they moved to Circle Pines, MN and became members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Lino Lakes. Harold was a member of the US Coast Guard 1953 and 1956, served in the Army of the United States 1954-1956, and worked for the City of St. Paul as Fire Captain and Emergency Medical Technician from 1964-1989. For many years Harold played taps on his trumpet for the Fire Department’s Memorial Day Service at Calvary and Oakland Cemeteries. Harold leaves behind a legacy of music, family and honorable living.
