Cordell, Carol Janese

Age 77 of St. Paul, originally of Yellow Springs, OH, died January 17th, 2014 surrounded by her family and baby Cash (her dog). Born December 19th, 1936 to Warren Cordell Sr. and Iola (Thompson) Cordell. She grew up in Yellow Springs, OH the second youngest of 12 children. Her father nicknamed her Buzzy because she was constantly buzzing around him. Carol left Yellow Springs for College in Minneapolis, MN. Where she received a BS degree. Here she met and married Carl V Cockrell Jr. They later moved to Rochester, MN to raise their 6 children. In 1977 she went back to school and completed 2 more degrees. She also went back to work. First for Montgomery Wards in the photo dept, then Rochester Symphony Orchestra as an administrative assistant. She moved to Tacoma, WA and worked for the IRS in their HR dept. Lets not forget that Carol traveled the world as a youth and with her husband when he was in the army. She also had a small catering business and opened 2 restaurants. She was a long devoted Jehovah Witness and enjoyed spreading his good word to others. She was preceded in death by both parents; her brothers, Richard, Warren, Louis, Victor, Joseph and Harold; her sisters Bertha, Echo and Mona. She is survived by sisters, Marsha Hammond of California, Delores Brown (Thomas) of, Minneapolis, Minnesota and sister-in-law Hatsuko Cordell of Tacoma, WA. Sons, Collin Cockrell of St.Paul, MN, Corinth Cockrell of St.Paul, MN; Daughters, Chelice Carter of Rochester, MN, Carol Eppolite (Jeff) of Cannon Falls, MN, Courtney Overton of Gary, and Chandra Cockrell of St.Paul, MN; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was laid to rest at Glen Forest Cemetery in Yellow Spring, OH.
