Cline II, Arthur Leon “Art”
January 26, 1957 – December 11, 2013
Age 56 of Minneapolis. Art Cline died peacefully at home in Rogers, Minnesota, surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer. An inspiration to all who knew him, he is gone too soon at 56. Art was predeceased by his father, Arthur, and his mother, Bonnie. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Bev, and his children, daughter Tiffany Becker (Clint) and grandsons Logan and Caden of Johnston City, Illinois; son Christopher Cline (Andrea) of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; daughter Brandy Robinson (Adam) and grandsons Troy and Trevor of Marion, Illinois; daughter Ashley Cline of San Francisco, California; and stepdaughters Katie Nichols (Cody) and grandson Bennett of Reno; and Emily Bennett (John Helgerson) of Reno.
Art was born and raised in Marion, Illinois, graduated from Marion High School, and attended Southern Illinois University. A strong negotiator with an entrepreneurial spirit, Art enjoyed many endeavors. For over 30 years he was a top salesman and manager providing material and finance packages to owner-builders. He was especially gratified when working with young couples who could not have owned a home without his guidance. Recently he and Bev relocated to Minnesota where he worked with long-time associates at a regional remodel company. Art was a member of Washoe Lodge 35 F & AM in Reno, Daylite Lodge 44 in Las Vegas, the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies of Freemasonry, and the Knights of St. Andrews. In 2009 he was Potentate of Kerak Shrine Center where he was active with several clubs including the Wrecking Crew, the Rod & Gun Club, and the Pizen Switch Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was selfless and fun-loving and always ready to toast the occasion. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 on Friday, December 20, at the Kerak Shrine Center, 4935 Energy Way, Reno. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Northern California.
