Waldron, Dorothy Mae (nee Bruner)
August 11, 1924 – March 4, 2013
Age 88 of Arden Hills, originally of Amery, WI. Loving and supportive mother and grandmother, exceptional cook and gardener, and avid angler, peacefully departed this life at the age of 88 on Mon. March 4, 2013. Born in Amery, WI, the third of 8 children, she is survived by her children, Pamela and Michael; grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew and wife Rona, and Michael and partner Tim; 3 siblings, Roy, Mary Anne and Eva. Dorothy will be remembered for the unconditional love and support she provided for her family, and for her quiet strength and independent spirit. Never one to sit still – following her retirement from Honeywell in 1988 – she continued to enjoy walking, bicycling, golfing, cross country skiing and canoeing. Aside from her farm in Wisconsin, The Raptor Center and the Como Park Arboretum were two of her favorite places. She ushered for Prairie Home Companion, volunteered at the Shoreview Community Center, and delivered Meals on Wheels. Dorothy enjoyed time with friends and cherished her gourmet group of four, which met for 30 years to share food, music and theatre. She loved birds – especially loons, cardinals and eagles – and always kept her feeders full. She was an amazing cook and had perfected art with chocolates, much to her family’s delight. She will always be loved and greatly missed. A celebration of her life will take place in Amery on the occasion of her 89th birthday in August 2013, details to be announced.
