Kafka, Gerald Casimer
August 16, 1926 – October 27, 2012
Age 86, of St. Paul. Preceded in death by his spicy wife, Olivia; mother Helen; father Casimer; brother Bill. Survived by 4 grief-stricken daughters: Victoria (Richard) Lemanczyk-Kafka; Nancy Kafka; Jody Elmasry; Shelly Kafka; 5 grandchildren and his cat, Mitz. Jerry lived a full life devoted to family and country. He joined the Marines at age 18, and served in the Pacific Theater in WWII. He went on to attend and play football for the U of M, and later Hamline. Jerry also worked at the Minnesota State Fair every year. He was not perfect …. but we loved him dearly. We will miss him. Dad, you are free! Visitation Friday November 2, 9:30-10:30AM at the Fort Snelling Officers’ Club, followed by Prayer Service/ Tribute 10:30-11-15; assemble at the Club at 11:45 for burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Lunch at the Officers’ Club follows. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Rice Street Athletic Association.
